stuff I wrote on other computer but blogger is a jerk bag

Once the teacher gave the class their assignment, Randy turned around and began talking to Patrick about different things, the school, the beach, the girls, as Laydon kept his head down and pretended to work. He ended up doodling on the worksheet though. He drew a moon with a wolf beneath it howling. He then notices Evan staring at it, a half-smile on her face.
“May I help you?” He asked as he covered the picture with his hand.
Her half-smile turned into a grin. “Nah, just looking.” He rolled his eyes. “You have a talent,” she said.
He snorted. “Right. I have a hobby. One that gives me low grades and an unsocial outlook.”
“Outlook on what?” She asked quizzically.
“I don’t know.” He shook his head. “I just couldn’t think of the right word is all.”
“Ah,” she said. “I get it. So how’s it been going?”
“Busy,” Laydon thought after a second. He had realized that he was speaking to her, flirting perhaps, which was out of bounds. Ethan. He had to constantly remind himself.
“Why’s that?” She asked pulling out her cell phone. When he hadn’t said anything she looked up. “I’m listening,” she added. “Just checking in with a relative.”
“Right,” Laydon said before continuing. “Homework has been piling up lately and I’ve had to work overtime, plus,” he decided to add, “my girlfriend’s been keeping me pretty out of my house.” There, he thought, now it’s nothing. I mentioned Jo, so I have nothing to feel guilty about. But he still did.
“Girlfriend?” Evan raised an eyebrow. “Was that the Jocelyn Haley mentioned oin Tuesday.”
“Indeed,” Laydon said. “Yet I sit here chatting instead of getting some of my school work done.”
“And yet, I have a feeling you’re going to keep talking,” Evan replied smiling. “So you have a job?”
“Yep,” he said leaning back,” It’s on the main street. A coffee shop called Webs.”
“Ah,” Evan said raising her eyebrow. “I think I’ve heard of it.”
“Yet you moved here…when?” He asked, doubting her.
“Last Saturday actually.” She folded her arms. “I have quite a good memory to be honest.”
“I see,” Laydon said. “So you com—yo?” He said to Patrick who just turned his way.
“What’s the best spot for waves?” Patrick asked. “Randy wants to catch a few later, but I don’t remember where you always go.”
“Oh, yeah,” Laydon said. “It’s at Blacks.” He gave him quick directions before the bell ringing and them packing up and heading out. This time him landing into step with Randy. “So you like it down here? Evan said you moved here Saturday?”
“Yeah,” Randy shrugged. “Uncle Dick’s been trying to get us down here for a while, so it’s good for him.” Without another word he sped up to walk with Evan and Patrick, so Pat, being the friend he was fell a few paces back to Laydon.
“What just happened?” Pat asked. “I mean, he just kind of dissed you.”
“Yeah,” Laydon said. “That’s what just kind of happened.” He looked ahead at his beanied head next to Evan’s beautiful body.
“Why?” Patrick said. “He was cool to me.”
“If I knew,” Laydon said stopping Pat and looking at him. “I think I’d tell you. But right now I feel kind of…” without a chance to finish his sentence he sprang to the bathroom, lucky and unlucky that it was break.
After seeing his breakfast again he pulled out his phone and walked outside. “Grams…” he said into the mouth piece. “When you get this can you check me out. It got worse and I don’t know how long I can make it.” He hung up and turned around. Right into Jocelyn.
“Hey, Lay,” she said smiling and putting her hand into his, leading him to the quad.. “Did you see that we got some new meat on campus? Some revolting girl and her brother,” she said negatively. “I mean the trash they let in here, I—”
“Maybe that’s why it’s a public school, Jocelyn.” He cut her off and stopped in his pace.
She looked at him with wide brown eyes.
“And maybe if you didn’t want that you would go back to private school.” With that he pulled himself free from her grip and walked away.
He didn’t know why but she was annoying him. Scratch that. He knew why. It was because of Evan. He was used to her gossip and shit she usually gave him but she insulted Evan without knowing her. He felt awful just leaving her like that, but she wasn’t right. His friends were right. He needed to dump her. And he wanted to. It just was that it would seem like he was going to because of Evan.
No. He couldn’t do that. At least not yet. Because he would be doing it because of Evan, and that wasn’t fair to Ethan. Give him a chance. Give her a chance.
“Hey guys,” Laydon said when he reached his friends.
“Hey Laydon,” Ethan said coming up to him. “Where’s Jocelyn? She went to find you.”
“I know,” Laydon shrugged. “I didn’t want to talk to her.”
“Woah,” Ethan said accusingly. “You never turned her away before.”
He shrugged again. “I know she was just pissing me off. I couldn’t help but finally crack.”
“Oh,” Ethan said. “I get it dude. Just please don’t miss tonight.”
“I wasn’t going to.” Laydon smiled.
“Thanks,” Ethan punched him in the arm. “So,” he started casually. “Patrick says you saw Evan earlier.”
“Yeah, second period,” Laydon nodded. “She was with her brother. I’m awed you didn’t see her.”
“Who says I didn’t?” Ethan raised his eyebrows.
Laydon chuckled. “I get it dude. If I end it with Jo, it’s not cuz of that.”
“I know,” Ethan said. “So do you know what class she has next?” He asked obviously meaning Evan.
“Chemistry,” Gabe said walking up to them. “I’m assuming you guys meant the new chick. I was the one who printed out her and her brother’s schedule,” he said proudly.
“Looks like you’re in luck then,” Laydon said to Ethan. “Your next class.”
“And yours my friend,” Ethan said as the bell rang. “You ever notice,” he said as he picked up his bag, “that we have a lot of classes together?”
“Just three,” Laydon reminded him. “Yeah but still…”

Luckily for Laydon he had managed to find an open seat next to Audrey, one of Jocelyn’s friends, pushing Ethan to sit by Laydon. They were working on Final Projects so their teacher was letting them talk quietly and Laydon could hear Ethan and Evan chatting. Laydon didn’t work again this period, but didn’t throw up either, he just sat there and drew. Toward the end of the period he realized he should probably apologize to Jocelyn. Even though Ethan said he knew it wasn’t because of Evan he couldn’t trust himself. He knew he could help himself to not hurt Jo’s feelings.
So when the bell rang he walked out with Ethan after Evan went ahead and asked, “So how’d it go?”
“It went,” Ethan said smiling. “She’s coming to the game tonight.” His smile grew.
Laydon’s mind was cursing but he portrayed the good best friend, “That’s great, man.” He spotted Jocelyn in front of him and added, “Hey, I’ll catch up with you in a bit.” He swung his bag crossing his body and pushed it to his back. He jogged up to her and slipped his hands around her waist whispering, “I’m sorry about earlier, just a lot of stress lately.” She stopped and he kissed her cheek.
“It’s okay,” she said giving him a killer smile. “You want to go off for lunch?” She wasn’t asking for the food.
Laydon sighed. He didn’t want to lead her on anymore but didn’t want to disappoint her. “How about,” he compromised, “I pick you up for the game tonight and we can go somewhere after?” He didn’t want to break up with her at the game but didn’t want to do anything anymore. He just wanted to stall.
“There’s a dance afterwards,” Jocelyn whined. “I really wanted to go.” She looked at him pleading.
“Then we’ll go to the dance,” Laydon smiled at her. I am leading her on, he thought. I have to end it tonight.
***
But luckily before he had to go any further his grandmother had called the office excusing him from school. Yes, he thought. He was starting to ache, but he couldn’t let Grams know of that otherwise she wouldn’t let him go to the game. He decided to go straight home instead of the park or the beach, best to stay on Grams good side. Although that was just a sorry excuse so he wouldn’t go the park and be reminded of Evan.
When he got home he threw his bag in his room and sat himself on the large leather sofa. Pulling his soft Star Wars blanket over him he turned on the tv. Sleep, he thought. And did. He fell asleep almost instantly to the same movie as blanket. As he was asleep however his subconscious pulled open a new dream.
“Laydon?” Called a voice.
“Mom?” He realized. “Is that you?”
“Laydon!” And there she was, tan skin like his, and blond hair shining in the light of—where was he? He looked around and saw the park he always went to. In fact it was the same day as the day he met Evan.
“What’s going on?” He asked looking at her. “Where am I?”
“In time you will understand like I have,” she reached a hand up, as if to brush his cheek, but stopped mid-movement. “We don’t have much time, but you need to understand the next thing I say.”
“I will,” Laydon nodded. “Anything.” All he wanted was to be with his mother, and here he was. He’d do anything for her.
“Trust Evan,” she said, smiling with tears falling down her cheeks. “Take her in and trust her.”
“What?” Laydon shook his head. This was almost like what Patrick had told him.
“You promised, Laydon. You have to,” she bit her lip, hesitating. “For the sake of everything, trust her.”
Laydon didn’t think just nodded. “I will, mom,” he had never been able to say those words. “I do.”
She lifted up her hand again; an inch remained away from his face. “If I touch you, this will evaporate.”
Laydon squeezed his eyes shut. “Why can’t you tell me anything else, mom? If you can stay.”
“Because,” she smiled, “They will find out, and it is not safe. Please, Laydon, remember this.” She dropped a gold necklace from her other hand that Laydon caught. “It was your fathers. It let me live far longer than I would have. I brought it with me on accident though. I didn’t mean to bring it on, but it happened. Take it. It will guide you.”
Laydon didn’t look at it, just his mother. “I miss you, mom. I always have and I always will.”
She smiled another watery smile. Its okay, love. I’m with you.” She held out her arms. “You need to get to work.”
Laydon smiled through his tears as well and hugged his mother for the first time, but then he was just hugging mist.
He woke up still crying when he looked at the gold necklace in his hand.

3. SkooL DaNce

[...I dun't know why it's typed that way...

and it was a tuesday not wednesday]

The next two days were a lot easier on Laydon. More normal. Easier because of the advice Kirk had given him. And more normal because Evan hadn't shown up at school again. However the normal started to become unbalanced. A couple times on Wednesday Laydon had gotten sick and ran out of class to throw up, more on Thursday. But he didn't feel sick, it was just spontaneous. He didn't tell anyone he had gotten sick either. Just let it role. So it was odd, but still better.

And then Friday came....

Laydon's alarm clock ended up being the left overs from his late dinner the night before. That called Grams to him.

"Laydon," she called coming up the stairs. "What's going on?" But once again he felt fine the second he was done.

He didn't want to lie Grams so when she came in to him brushing his teeth he spit and said, "I think I'm getting sick."

"So you have been throwing up?" She asked. "The school contacted me when your teacher found out." She explained to his astonishment.

"Ah," he shrugged. "It only comes up suddenly, and then when I throw up it's fine the second after, I don't get it. But it's not stopping me from doing anything so I didn't think I should bother you."

"It might be something serious," Grams noted.

For some reason beyond his control Laydon didn't want to have the conversation anymore. "It's not, Grams. I got to get going for school. I'm going to be late." Before she could open her mouth to protest he was out the door.

***

School began normal, Jocelyn cornered him before for a quick macking. It wasn't until on his way to second period, when he was finally waking up did he notice the addition to their campus. A redhead girl and black-haired boy walking with each other up ahead of him.

Oh no, Laydon thought when the feeling of uncontrolable happiness came over him. He wanted to run up and talk to her, know who she was walking with. But he couldn't he bit his tounge to stop himself. And then he saw her walk into his second period Stats class. Shit, he thought. He was going to be fine...Patrick was in this class with him. He'd save him. So Laydon, feeling a little more sturdy, walked into class and straight to his seat, looking nowhere else.

"Hey, man," he said when Patrick sat down next to him.

"What it do?" Patrick replied. Patrick wasn't as close to him as Ethan, but he was a close second. They had a lot in common. Such as the Fanboy in them and the artistic talent. While Laydon liked to draw, Patrick was a musician. And then Patrick saw Evan. "Woah," he commented. "Whose the babe? And dude in black?"

As Laydon had saw when he entered behind her was the brother she mentioned. But he continued to note look. "New girl," he said without looking. "And her brother," he added.

"Really?" Patrick said continuing to look, nodding, afro bouncing with him. "Hmmmm."

"Ethan called dibs," Laydon said. "Like for real this time, not one-nighting." He said when he saw Patrick raising his eyebrows.

"Ah," Patrick said putting his hands behind his head. "Well, what's the harm in flirting?" He looked over at Evan again and smiled then winked. That was when Laydon knew she was looking that way, so he pulled his hood over his head knowing that she would recognize his blond hair. He put his head down on his desk, into his folding arms.

But it was too late. He could tell by watching Patrick. He had smiled more encouragingly and nodded at the two empty seats in front of them that two flouncy girls usually occupied that hadn't gotten there yet.

"Hey girl," Patrick said when Laydon saw her sit down out of the corner of his eye. "Girl's bro." He held out a fist.

Her brother looked at it and punded it with his. "Sup?" Laydon heard him say. "Randy," he pointed at himself Laydon presumed. Then nodded to Evan, "And my sister Evan."

"I see," Patrick said. "Patrick's the name. And this is my bud Laydon who has come down with an incredible shyness."

Laydon looked up after squeexing his eyes shut furiously, making a note to himself to kick Patrick's ass later. "Hey," he said to Randy. "Nice seeing you again," he added to Evan.

"So you're Laydon," Randy said. "Evan mentioned you a couple nights ago." Randy was as attractive as Evan with black hair though, dyed by the look of it, that looked like it had a mind of it's own under his beany, and a playful face.

"Did she now?" Laydon smiled grudgingly and looked at her. Suprisingly enough she blushed.

"And the other friends I met," she added, her voice as perfect as Laydon remembered. "Haley, Ethan, Jessy, and Monica. I remember."

"But you said," Randy began, "that Laydon--"

"Shut it Randy," Evan snapped, then the teacher began the lesson.

So Evan had talked about him. Laydon was flattered. That was until he felt guilty. Then Patrick pulled out his phone, this teacher was good and let them use cell phones 'as calculators' he said. And then Laydon's phone lit up.

You met her? O_o It was from Pat.

Yay for hoome Computer xD (and my dad getting off it)

[from the ending of last post. And btw I hate it when you text over 12 ppl and NO ONE texts you back]

[Uhhhhh....no one loves me]x

Laydon rolled his eyes. "Thank you wise Dragon," he put his hands together mockingly and bowed. Kirk was into the chinese zodiac lately; decorating the shop in his latest trends and obsessions. "You're lucky I didn't just get done at the beach."

"Chyah," Kirk laughed. "Nothing to bring in customers like the smell of wet dog."

Laydon shook his head at Kirk, mockingly. Kirk's real name was Travis, but he had never seemed like one so everyone knew him by his last name. He was a built man with a little goatee and the look of a fawn. He also had scars around his face from where a dog had bit him when he was younger, which is why he made fun of Laydon's zodiac. He had opened the cafe right out of high school, four years ago.

Laydon loved the coffee shop as if it was his own. He loved the atmosphere of college kids intermingled with busy business men and lonely women. All the regulars were his friends by now and all of the newbies would adore him. Laydon was just that way, charismatic in a way he didn't even understand.

As he worked a conversation with Kirk started.

"So anything new happening lately?" Kirk asked as they got to work at the tables or counter.

"Meh," Laydon shrugged. He still wasn't sure he wanted to talk to Kirk about it, even though he was the closest thing he had to a brother or even father now that Pops was gone.

Kirk set down the cup he was about to make a drink in and crossed his arms at Laydon. "Perce, I know you better than most people and they know something is up. So I ask again: anything new happen lately?" He picked up the cup and began working again.

Laydon rolled his eyes. "Yeah actually. I met somebody."

Kirk didn't glance over, but smiled a crooked smile. "Is that so? A girl?"

"Maybe," Laydon shrugged and took another order before continuing. "I ditched the first half of school and met her at the park. Then she turned up at school."

"And you like her?" Kirk asked. "But you have Jocelyn if I recall."

"Jocelyn's...." Laydon trailed off unsure how to finish the sentence. "Off. You know how she is."

"Aye, I do," Kirk said. "A little unstable. Something you're too kind to say your self though. I think that there is more to what you're saying though. What does Ethan think about this?" He knew he had hit the nail on it's head.

Laydon groaned. "Seriously man? Why don't you do your pyschic shit for a living instead of this?"

"This is what I do," Kirk answered. "I work, a lot I might add, and then mentor you with this 'psychic shit' in the meantime. I mean, I could not."

Laydon rolled his eyes. "Thank you for doing it anyways dude."

"Yeah," Kirk said. "Anyways, so Ethan?"

Laydon put his head in his hands. "He likes her, like more than his usual stuff. And I know I shouldn't feel this way, like he's the reason I'm not going after her because I have Jocelyn, and even though I know everyone would be so much better off if I did end it I still can't because like you put too kind to say myself. But I just feel a connection between me and her. When I first saw her it was like I wasn't me just air. I don't know, man, and now I just sound like such a girl and, oh dear gods, there she is." He looked at the girl come inside and ducked under the counter.

He crawled to the edge of the counter and looked at her. True a red head girl had just come inside, but it wasn't Evan. So he stood back up to Kirk roaring with laughter.

"Wow, man," he said between his laughter. "You must have it bad, that was the most hillarious thing I've ever seen."

"Shut up," he glared at Kirk and took the girl's order. "Ugh, I just don't know what to do."

"I do," Kirk said fixing the drink. "Which is why, I assume, you talked to me."

"Yes," Laydon waved a hand for him to continue.

"Just be her friend, get to know her." He shrugged. "Don't hurt Ethan if you can help it, and just see what happens. Don't force anything."

"Right," Laydon nodded. "Natural. And don't tell Jocelyn anything." He added, smiling.

"Exactly," Kirk said.

[That's it for now, If I can't find food in like 10 minutes I'll start writing again....yeah.
